Please Protect Our Families and Friends From Hurricane Gustav

Dearest Father,

As many of us are watching and celebrating on this wonderful and historic evening of the Democratic National Convention, there are many people who are waiting in fear of Hurricane Gustav. Please keep the  comfort the citizens of Hispaniola, Cuba, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands safe.  Please protect our families and friends in Florida and Louisiana.  Let the potential loss, damage and devastation caused by this storm  be minimal on all counts.  Amen.

Some Days We Just Need A Little More Help!

Dearest Father,

Somedays are easier than others to be thankful for all that I have, how little is truly bad compared to so many other’ s plight.  I think that there are just some days that it’s difficult to be optimistic.  It’s not because we’re being self absorbed or impatient.  It’s because we are getting bombarded with negative news and forecasts, and we’re human. We’re working harder and have less to show for it.  Geez, somedays it is all I can do to process life and I definately  know better than many individuals on  how to be happier!!   So, for all my sisters and friends, please give us a little extra fortitude in the hope department and bear with us in our struggles to make sense of all this kookiness.  Please help make it easier for us to reach out and help each through these difficult times.   Thank you for all our blessings, Father.  Amen.

For No Particular Reason.

Dearest Father,

I just had to take a minute to share the overwhelming sense of joy that I have in my heart.  I’m not sure why I have this feeling in the midst of some overwhelming issues going on in my life and in this world at this time.  I guess it’s because in spite of them, the feeling of gratitude is so much stronger, so much clearer than worry.  I don’t know how long I’ll be feeling so good, but, I thank you.  I thank you for this blessing and the many others that show up in the course of my day.  I love you!  Amen.
